In the early 1950s, Albert E. Luetzow saw a better way to serve the garment industry. He invented the first polyethylene garment bagging machine, revolutionizing packaging by moving the industry from paper to plastic.
What started as a family innovation in South Milwaukee scaled quickly. By 1956, Luetzow Industries built its first full production plant and eventually became Dow Chemical’s first plastic resin rail car customer in Wisconsin. We didn't just use the technology—we built it, constructing the world’s first fully automated polyethylene extrusion plant.
Today, Luetzow Industries is led by the third generation. We remain a family-owned, factory-direct powerhouse, providing high-performance plastics without the inflated markups of middleman distributors.
